The honorary award ceremony for the film Take a Trip by Christos N. Karakasis was successfully held, marking 100 consecutive weeks of screenings at Studio – New Star Art Cinema in Athens. The event stood as a remarkable moment for Greek cinema, honoring a work that sustained an uninterrupted presence on the big screen for nearly two years.
The award highlighted an achievement that is exceptionally rare in contemporary cinema. In an era dominated by rapid circulation and short 
theatrical runs, Take a Trip distinguished itself as a cinematic experience of duration, establishing a deep and lasting relationship with the audience of Studio Cinema and reaffirming that contemplative cinema can still resonate with dedicated viewers.
Take a Trip was recognized as an authentic example of essay filmmaking. Rather than following a linear narrative, the film unfolded as a cinematic essay in images, sounds, and words, where the camera explored ideas and states of being instead of recounting events.
Special reference was made to the contribution of Vasiliki Kappa, whose texts and narration formed the film’s inner voice. Her poetic and philosophical writing, in dialogue with image and sound, offered the audience a second layer of interpretation, reinforcing the essayistic nature of the work.
During the ceremony, the film’s international journey was also acknowledged. Take a Trip had been officially selected at over 120 international film festivals across 35 countries and had received more than 80 awards worldwide. Nevertheless, it was emphasized that its continuous theatrical run at Studio – New Star Art Cinema for 100 weeks represented a distinction of equal, if not greater, significance.
The honorary award was presented not only in recognition of the film itself, but also of a cinematic philosophy—one that insists on time, reflection, and the shared experience of cinema. The evening concluded in a warm and celebratory atmosphere, affirming that Take a Trip was not merely a successful film run, but a living testament to what cinema can still mean today.
